I am nominating Jennifer for being the nurse who always does the right thing when no one is watching. I have gotten to know her for the short time that I have been here, and I am amazed at how much she cares about "All Patients" and always goes above and beyond despite if they are assigned to her. She shared that she is a new grad, and I'm in awe because J3 definitely "HIT THE JACKPOT." She brought me to tears because of how much she cares. I was passing by and saw her in a room struggling with a patient. I asked if she needed help, but she was hesitant. I went to the room anyway to help because I thought she needed help. She shared that it was not her patient. She shared that she told the nurse that the patient was soaked. She followed up a few minutes later and the patient was still soaked. She changed the patient and got the patient on the commode per his request. She said that she cannot sit back and watch a patient soiled. Patient was short of breath, she checked the oxygen saturation and called respiratory for a breathing treatment per patient's request. She stayed with the patient, comforting him. I was almost in tears. This touched my heart because if this was my family, I would want Jennifer to be the nurse taking care of him. She is always asking everyone if they need help. She gives exemplary care to her patients and is very thorough. Jennifer is one in a million and is an asset to Beverly Hospital. This award will motivate other new grads and Jennifer to always go Above and Beyond even when no one is watching.
