While working with Dr. Doering as a graduate student she did everything possible to help facilitate my learning. She is the most fair and unbiased teacher I have had in a long time. Dr. Doering is tireless in her efforts to help us grow and learn as scientists. I was so well guided in her analysis course and know that she cares deeply about us as students and people. She was consistently attentive to our concerns and questions and challenged us in our discussions to think deeper and grow. I appreciate her energy and genuine care and concern for our learning. At one point in the course, I got mixed up with my focus and wasn't thinking as broadly as I could have. Dr. Doering met with me via phone and we exchanged numerous emails. She wanted to make sure I understood and was able to advance with my work. This made a huge difference in my project work and outcome. Her students’ success is her success, and she deserves this award.
