Jennifer is one of the best nurses I know, but still never fails to amaze me with her knowledge and intelligence.

Today Jenn and I brought a patient back with a chief complaint of hypotension and abdominal pain. Jenn started the triage while I started the basic tasks. At this time, Jenn and I both noticed how hypotensive this patient was, but she didn't present that way. I ran an EKG, which was ultimately normal. I decided to cycle the pressure again, and it was even lower than the first.

Jenn always has a sense of when something isn't right.

The patient was sent to CT. On the way back from CT, Jenn noticed ST elevation on the monitor. We immediately proceeded to capture another EKG, which now showed acute MI. If it weren't for Jenn noticing the changes on the monitor, it easily could have been missed.

Due to Jenn's immense emergency medicine training, she saved a life. This patient was in and out the door to the Cath Lab in under an hour and a half.

Jenn has personally taught me so much and is someone I look to as a mentor. She is consistent and incredible in everything she does.
