My 3-year-old daughter, E, was admitted to the PICU in October 2025 with a mediastinal mass that was obstructing her airway and was subsequently diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Jen was our PICU nurse for the first 3 nights, which were incredibly scary for our family.

E loves princesses and was wearing her Rapunzel braid when she went to the ER/was admitted.

On the 2nd night, Jen arrived; she had purchased a bunch of Disney princess costumes with her own money for E to wear. She was thrilled and dressed as a different princess each day, the entire time we were inpatient (12 total, 8 at PICU).

Jen led princess E on nightly princess walks around the PICU floor, as well as Disney song sing-alongs.

These nights with Jen were the highlights of E’s time in the hospital. She was so wonderful to E and to me.

I will never forget Jen comforting me when I was sobbing alone in E’s room after she fell asleep one of those first few nights.

She was so reassuring in those early, scary first days when we were getting so much information so quickly and didn’t know what to expect. She was truly an angel to E and our family.

Thank you, Jennifer, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
