Jennifer is an outstanding nurse and it was her quick thinking that dispatched the ambulance promptly and ensured the safest outcome for this patient.
Jennifer deserves this award based on many factors. 1 month ago there was an imminent delivery happening at Gulf Coast with the baby in distress. She had immediately recognized the need to send the Maternal Transport Team to Gulf Coast without their initial call out to Healthpark. When she got to Gulf Coast, she had recognized an unsafe event that was about to happen (emergency cesarean section), she had immediately intervened and jumped into delivery, and had instructed the patient to start pushing due to fetal bradycardia. When the shoulder dystocia event had occurred, it was her heroic efforts to take over the delivery from the ED physician and delivered the infant safely and then went on to transport the mother and the newborn baby to Healthpark. Jennifer is an outstanding nurse and it was her quick thinking that dispatched the ambulance promptly and ensured the safest outcome for this patient. I cannot stress how crucial her recognition of the event was and thus nominating her for this award.
