As a mother, you never want to hear the words "Your son is near death". Jennifer was open and honest about my son's condition but there was a reassurance about her words and actions that left me feeling at peace knowing within my heart that my son would survive. I know she is an ICU nurse but she thinks like a doctor, she is very proactive and aggressive in making sure she gets what she needs for her patient when she needs it. There is also the side of her that is caring enough to hold a family member as she did me, while I cried thinking I may lose my son. I'm grateful to all that took care of him, but often times I think those that spend the most time with a patient (the nurses) go unnoticed. I hope that Jennifer does not go unnoticed.
