Jen Frigon joined the MidState team 5 years ago and since, she's made a positive impact on Pavilion B and the night shift that she leads. For many reasons, she's deserving of the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. She has embraced and led her team through numerous changes, including the pandemic, increase in COI patient population, and hospital implemented evidence-based practice changes. She is certified to give chemotherapy and has assisted in onboarding new nurses to give chemotherapy and increase their comfort level when doing so. Jen advocates for both staff and patients alike and always has a positive attitude and presence, no matter what challenges she faces. Perhaps the most telling reason that Jen is so deserving of the leadership award is that her night staff, comprised of techs and nurses with varying levels of experience, keep nominating her to be the Pavilion B Employee of the Month. Despite this award being for bedside staff members only, each month, without fail, the staff nominate Jen for the employee of the month. With multiple submissions, examples and reasons why she is an excellent leader and by multiple staff members. Who else is to say that Jen is deserving of a leadership award, more than the staff that she leads. The staff go to her whenever there is a question, a concern, or anything they need. Jen is always there for them and they feel secure in knowing that when she's at work, they'll be supported and have an excellent resource. For the reasons above and many more, Jen Frigon is a true DAISY Nurse Leader.

Jen always does things above and beyond. She always walks COI patients even without being asked, especially if everyone is busy. She's always ready to help nurses and aides in every which way she can. She's very compassionate to the patients, which is shown in her willingness to help and hos she treats them.

Jen is always available if we need a helping hand. She also makes herself available to answer any questions she may have. She definitely made me feel welcomed when I was new to the unit.
