Jennifer has made a difference in the lives of not one patient but many through her dedication to them. She has multiple roles as a Clinic Nurse but has worked closely with patients suffering from Tuberous sclerosis, a multiorgan disorder that affects the brain mostly. I remember this mom calling and running out of refills for the medicine Vigabatrin and freaking out because the medication was out of stock. If there was going to be a break in the treatment, the child likely could enter status epilepticus.

Jennifer went through the insurance and searched through pharmacies that could supply the medication, spending 4 hours on the phone to get this medication delivered to the family on time. She has taken the lead in providing the best care to these patients. She worked with the Epic team to have a questionnaire built into Epic so that they are screened appropriately for their problems. We also have a way to have the Seizure Action Plan in EPIC that is easy to fill out in less than a minute not just providing better care to the children but improving our efficiency. She then built care coordination notes to make it easy for us to follow these patients and provide the multidisciplinary care that they need. She is a nurse who takes pride in helping others and will go out of the way to do so.
