Jenn is an extraordinary nurse who goes above and beyond the call of duty. There have been so many circumstances where she has shown compassion in the care of the patients on the unit and support to those around her - whether it's staff, families, or patients.

One particular instance that I recall was when there was an extremely agitated patient on the unit who had threatened to leave AMA. This patient was verbally abusive to the staff and was quickly escalating to becoming physically combative. Jenn was able to de-escalate the situation with grace while she reasoned with this difficult patient. Her gentle reassurance, her ability to connect and support this patient, her attentive listening, and her passion to provide superior care is a testament to her daily commitment to nursing.

Jenn will often do a small thing that truly helps with streamlining someone's work and does it without anyone asking. She's truly someone that I look up to and she's an inspiration to others to act with such compassion and dedication.

I was speaking to a colleague of mine from one of our ICU's and she is thoroughly impressed by Jenn's devotion to our oncology patients. Chemo had been ordered to be administrated to a patient in this ICU and Jenn coordinated with the ICU nurse to provide this care. Jenn's incredible wealth of knowledge in oncology and chemotherapy administration coupled with her general willingness to help was well-received by this ICU and greatly appreciated.

I know I can always come to Jenn for assistance or with a question. Even when she doesn't have an answer, she'll follow-up and provides backup material to support that answer. Jenn is the rare sort of person whose character, generosity, intelligence, and energy makes coming to work a truly wonderful experience. It is an absolute pleasure and privilege to work alongside Jenn and I heartily recommend her as truly deserving of the DAISY award!
