Jennifer was nominated for a DAISY Award by a patient's sister, who shared,
"I have been a nurse for 32 years. My younger brother came into the ER post-seizure from Low K+ due to incessant drinking. I was hysterical, seeing my brother so sick, so destroyed, so advanced in his disease. (I was visiting from Dallas and had not seen him in a year).
Jennifer really wowed me, my brother and his wife. She was SO compassionate, non-judgmental, professional, and treated him like any other patient with respect and dignity. She told us what she was doing always, then did it. Her heart was with my brother and thus with me. Jennifer did not judge him for his disease and treated him like any other patient. Her voice, attitude and behaviors all exhibited compassion in union and consistently.
Jennifer exhibited competence, care and compassion. She relieved our emotional pain. She sparkled with her skills, talents and concern. She consistently displayed a relationship-based care model. Jennifer was sunshine in a dreary situation. Her professionalism was perfection!"
