It was an amazing moment for the patient and her family, and it was materialized because of the extra miles that Jen went for our patient.
We had a very nice but very sick patient a few months ago; she was placed on Palliative Care-End of Life. Jennifer "Jen" Huys our Clinical Leader was doing her Line and safety rounding one morning and the patient told Jen, "I was a lead singer in a choir of one of the local churches here in Gainesville and I am really hoping to be able to sing with them again for the last time because I know that I will not be here for a long time."
Jen did not waste her time; she approached me if she can call the church and find out if the choir can come and visit the patient. Jen facilitated everything and was able to get multiple members of the church choir to come and our patient was able to sing along with them with her very beautiful voice and she was able to sing solo as well. We all saw the smile on her face. It was an amazing moment for the patient and her family, and it was materialized because of the extra miles went Jen did for our patient.
