When people say a person’s actions and mannerisms fit their role, Florence Nightingale is the name that comes to mind when I think of Jennifer. On that Monday, I was scheduled for a wound vac change. I told her how terrified I was to have it done again outside of the OR. She stepped right in and made sure I had enough time for my medication to take effect so I could tolerate the pain, and she ensured there was extra medication available if needed to help me through the rest of the procedure.

Although my husband was there, she still stood beside me, gently patting my shoulder, giving me an added layer of reassurance, protection, and support. I cannot express my gratitude for her kindness that day. It still brings tears to my eyes when I think of the love she showed me.

Jennifer, I will never forget you for your loving spirit.
