She has not only shown that she can provide care for her patients, but she has also demonstrated that she is proficient with computers, skilled at completing and filing paperwork, and is very capable of communicating with other nurses and doctors.
I have had the pleasure of working with Jennifer since she joined the hospital. She is a bright, dedicated, hardworking individual whose patients are noticeably happier when she is on shift. She has not only shown that she can provide care for her patients, but she has also demonstrated that she is proficient with computers, skilled at completing and filing paperwork, and is very capable of communicating with other nurses and doctors. She is extremely motivated, hard-working, and is so well organized that she’s seemingly 2 steps ahead of everyone. What really amazes me is when she goes out of her way to help and replies with "But I didn't do anything special. I was just doing my job." This shows how humble and caring she is.
She has a kind heart and an unwavering dedication to her patients. When difficult patients arise, which is common, Jennifer can calm them down, and explain the situation at hand without coming across as condescending. All patients warm up to her eventually. Situations have arisen where she's worked as the charge nurse, and everyone looks to her for direction. She is very quick on her feet when it comes to organizing people and delegating tasks, proving that she is reliable, trustworthy, and has great leadership skills. It’s these redeeming qualities that make her excellent at her job.
Not only that but even her knowledge of medicine is remarkable. I once had a patient with hyperkalemia where the thought process was to treat whereas she was the one who pointed out that it could be from her high platelets, which was true. And many more times when she has helped in patient care going beyond her responsibilities. Jennifer is an extremely capable nurse who proves time and time again that she is an asset to her department.
She’s able to leave her personal life at the door and concentrate on her patients, providing superlative care with a smile on her face. I can say this as I know she was distressed once when her dad was not well, but she did not let that come in her way to provide for her patients, she came on time, did more than what was necessary for the patients, and stayed till late to give adequate sign-outs for the night team.
Ms. Kaur is upbeat, charismatic, and charming, and her patients have nothing but good things to say about her. Hospitals are usually associated with gloom and grief, yet Ms. Kaur manages to make ours a pleasant, almost cheerful environment. There are so many responsibilities entrusted to nurses, still, she can function at a high level under immense pressure and stress. In emergencies, she remains levelheaded and in control of the situation. I have personally seen her in RRTs, and Codes and I appreciate her decision-making capacity and the teamwork that she puts in. Even in an emergency, she is vocal about her thoughts for the patient that she has been taking care of and at the same time receptive to feedback. This is a rare quality these days and makes her a wonderful colleague whom everyone loves to work with. It is my belief that a nurse should be smart, strong-willed, and able to work long hours without a single complaint. Ms. Kaur has all these qualities and more, she is a true DAISY Nurse.
