Jennifer is consistently one of the best team players in this building. She has been mentioned at many briefs as someone who stands out as a team player. No matter how busy she is, she always finds a way to respond to bed and chair alarms. Jennifer is an extraordinary patient safety champion and simply leads by example in this area. She is proud to be a nurse, and her nursing practice is a mission for her at KershawHealth and in the community.
Jennifer is a compassionate nurse. Jennifer puts her patients' and families' needs before her own and is always calm and reassuring. If you are ever hospitalized, you hope to be fortunate enough to have Jennifer as your nurse. You simply will know that you will be taken care of.
Jennifer is well-liked and respected by her peers and colleagues and it shows every day. While we know nursing at the bedside is important, being liked, respected, and looked up to by your peers is also important. Jennifer helps orient new team members. Not once have I heard of someone having a bad or difficult preceptorship with Jennifer. As mentioned above, Jennifer is often mentioned at the EPSR held on Med 1. She is quietly enthusiastic and ever-encouraging to her fellow nurses. Jennifer is professional at all times. She is flexible and proactive in our ever-changing environment. She is a role model and sets the example and standard that we should follow.
Jennifer is a very positive and happy person. She smiles. A lot. I know it is hard to tell these days since everyone wears a mask, but I always know that Jennifer is smiling under that mask. She rarely, if ever, has a bad day. If she does, I can guarantee you will not know it. She simply just keeps smiling. Jennifer's positivity has not been affected by the current crisis. She smiles even in the midst of the COVID pandemic.
Finally, the best reason to recognize Jennifer has to do with what she has been through as a person and how she has overcome tragedy. Jennifer suffered what we all consider a tragic loss last year that could forever change a person. Jennifer's personality, infectious happiness, and overall positive attitude never wavered. Her nursing capability and attention to detail and patient care always exceed the standard of care and compassion, and Jennifer's patients could not tell a difference in the level of care she continued to give. This is what makes Jennifer a DAISY Nurse. No matter what challenges she has in her home life or at work, she handles it with grace. Her work never suffers. Her patients and all patients always receive excellent care. Jennifer simply defines dedicated, exceptional nursing.
