Jennifer Kent, RN

Nurse Jennifer was on her way to lunch when I appeared and asked her a question. Immediately she put all her business aside and began to assist me. She called my most recent provider and spoke to him via computer video call and asked him if we could all three chat and decide what to do to best serve me. My doctor and I quickly caught up and he explained to me how his program was changing, and he would soon not be able to assist me in the future, which made me sad. He quickly instructed her on how to further assist me for future appointments. Nurse Jennifer wrote down his instructions and we all said goodbye to one another. She gave me Kleenex with one hand and dialed the phone with the other as she set up my next phase of care. She offered to give the Dr. and me privacy, but I said that wasn’t necessary. By now, about one hour had passed and she was still helping me. She seemed to not be annoyed by my interruption of her lunch plan. I was so wonderful, and positively overwhelmed by her kindness, empathy, professionalism, and dedication to finish helping me that day. I was really impressed by her willingness to serve me first, without any hesitation at all. I was pleasantly surprised. Ms. Jennifer is certainly an Extraordinary Nurse and I proudly nominate her for the DAISY Award. Her positivity and willingness to help really inspired me and impressed me.
