I would like to share a story with you about the true act of kindness a caregiver and team exhibited to a patient. While completing ambulatory rooming intake for a patient who had arrived from a skilled nursing facility, Jennifer recognized the patient had an incontinence evert during her transportation to the visit. Performing this task at REJ was not possible due to the size of the beds and the patient's immobility. Jennifer called several people at Avon Hospital to collaborate on a plan. She was able to take the patient to an empty room at the hospital, use the Hoyer lift, and, with the assistance of several team members, clean up the patient and get her comfortable. Jennifer's act put the patient's needs first and kept the patient's dignity intact. Her and the team's willingness to say "yes, how can we help?" meant the world to this patient and deserves to be recognized.
