Jennifer Kuc, ADN, RN
I am 27 years old, and I came into the Labor and Delivery Unit at St. Mary's of Nazareth 40 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I was already in labor. Unfortunately, when I was admitted, the nurses attempted to find a heartbeat, but my baby boy was gone.
Nurse Jennifer was the most empathetic, and she was so gentle with my baby boy and me. Upon giving birth, she placed him on my chest and was always super gentle with him. She made sure I was okay at all times; she was understanding, caring, and extremely kind. I appreciated her so much.
She took his footprints and handprints and checked in with me as much as possible. Even when I wasn't sure, she did her best and did more so that I would have as much as possible from my first baby.
Upon leaving the unit, although I was no longer her patient, she stopped to hug me and offer her condolences once again. I will always remember her kindness to my baby boy and me during the toughest time in my life.
