I'm a long-time employee of Parkview, and recently, I, unfortunately, had the opportunity to see things from a different perspective as a patient. I had contracted a severe kidney infection, which had turned into sepsis. I was in an indescribable amount of pain and was really scared, to say the least. By day two in the hospital, I hadn't eaten, showered, couldn't sleep, couldn't get comfortable, my pain was not controlled, and I was very tearful. It felt like no one was listening to me, and I was honestly on the verge of leaving AMA because I was so uncomfortable (I know, I know!). The moment Jenny entered my room at 7 am, she took one look at me and found out something was off. She stopped, listened, and acted. She retook my temperature, as I felt it was higher than previously recorded, and it was indeed painfully back up to 102. She had the doctor at my bedside within minutes. She stood beside me and supported me while I advocated for myself and expressed my obvious concerns and discomfort. Jenny worked tirelessly that entire day to get ahead of the pain, determined to help me. For the first time in days, I was able to get up and shower, eat some food, and even smile and laugh with her. She not only went above and beyond to help me medically and physically, but also talked to me like a person and helped ease my anxiety and overall feelings of loneliness. Jenny was still onboarding during this encounter, but I'm 100% confident she'll go on to help so many people the way she helped me, the way Parkview employees should be upholding, in her career. She deserves recognition, and I will never forget her kindness and the genuine care she gave me.
