Jennifer was caring for an elderly man who had been declining in his respiratory status to the point the patient needed to be intubated. He declined intubation, stating that he did not want intervention. He called his wife and they agreed that he should be "comfort care." His elderly wife could not come to the hospital so late at night due to transportation issues, so Jennifer sat in his room and held his hand, long after her shift was over so this patient would not die alone.

We congratulate Jennifer and we appreciate all she does to make an enormous difference in the lives of many.
