January 2015 Honoree
jennifer marin, RN
Jenn made my stay as pleasurable as possible. She was the nurse who admitted me after hours in the ER on Friday. From the minute I was on her floor, she continued to do small things that made a big impact in terms of feeling reassured and more comfortable. Right away, she thoroughly went through my med routine and made appropriate arrangements. She also made sure I had a meal tray when dining services was closing shortly after I was brought to the floor. During the night, she would chart in my room when I was having a hard time sleeping. It made me feel better to have her there when I was in a lot of pain. Despite having a lot of work to do, she always took a few moments to chat with me and that really cheered me up. She also noticed important details. The night after my surgery, she noticed that I was in a bad position and she called an aide to shift me into a better posture. It hurt a lot in the moment but I felt much better after. I would not have known that that would have made such a difference or been cognizant enough to communicate my needs in that moment. She was a step ahead.
Thank you, Jennifer, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
