She is incredibly approachable and creates an environment where staff feel comfortable seeking guidance, asking questions, and sharing concerns. Her presence provides a constant sense of stability across multiple acute care units, which is invaluable in such a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
She is highly responsive and consistently ensures that staff receive timely and accurate information. No matter how busy she is, she makes it a priority to communicate effectively and follow through on every request or concern. Her reliability builds trust and confidence among the team.
What truly sets her apart is her understanding nature and her commitment to providing real-time feedback. Being a leader, especially in the healthcare system, is more often than not an extremely difficult title to hold.
It takes an incredible amount of dedication, sacrifice, and humility to be a leader in this dynamic industry. Being the one who advocates for the staff you manage and the patients that they serve, being the one who asks the hard questions instead of staying quiet, being the one who prioritizes patient and staff safety each day is just the beginning of a long list of tasks that are placed on our leadership team.
Jennifer does all of these things and so much more, with such grace.
I have had the honor of working under this leader as a bedside nurse, and now beside her as a fellow member of leadership. She is an inspiration to me and so many others because of who she is as a person and as a professional.
She is not afraid to have tough conversations and does not hesitate in celebrating her staff’s achievements.
Jennifer has embraced being a mentor to many in our organization, whether they are a graduate student, a new graduate nurse, a seasoned nurse looking to grow professionally, or someone who is moving into a leadership position.
She has dedicated over 20 years of service to nursing and to the Phoebe Putney Health System, shaping the lives of countless patients and nursing staff by being a consistent, dependable, steadfast, and compassionate leader.
