I am nominating Jenn for the DAISY Award for her exceptional, compassionate, above and beyond care of a young man at the end of his life. Jenn showed so much respect for the patient's wants and wishes, ensuring his comfort and advocating for him to his medical team. All he wanted to eat was McDonald's, and she got him McDonald's. When he was unable to sleep, she stayed at his bedside and made bracelets with him. Any time she was communicating with him, she sat down next to him and got at his eye level. In a dehumanizing environment, she humanized it as much as she could for him. This is only one instance of many that I have witnessed Jenn being a marvel of a nurse. She is so deserving of this recognition. I am proud to work alongside someone so dedicated to their patients.
