Jennifer would listen to all the questions that I had until I was completely finished, and then she would try to answer them to the best of her ability.
Jennifer is a listener. If I had to have a topic or title for my story that would be it. Jennifer is a listener. She did all the normal things the other nurses did -- she cleaned me, changed my bed linens, and took me to the bathroom. She was always here every single time I needed her, but the biggest difference was when I had a question about something -- whether it was a med that I was taking or a procedure they were going to be doing -- she would listen to all the questions that I had until I was completely finished, and then she would try to answer them to the best of her ability. I always appreciated that because not everyone would hear what I was saying when I was trying to explain the reason I might not want to take one of the meds or if I had a bad experience with one of the medicines. Just the fact that she would stop and listen each time made me feel more like I was being taken care of by a family member than being taken care of by someone who is a hired employee. That is one of the things that is hard to find in this world -- that level of quality employee. I was lucky to have her helping me on two different 12-hour shifts and for that, I will be forever grateful!
