She is the glue that keeps our office together and running smoothly!
Jenn received numerous nominations!
***Jenn has demonstrated her leadership skills time and time again over the years that I have worked with her. She has consistently acted as the resource nurse for the office and has been a wealth of information to all staff members. She has dealt with the unfortunate understaffing situation in our office and has gracefully taken on many different roles including training new staff and orienting them to the office. She has led by example and consistently demonstrates her professionalism and work ethic to all surrounding staff members. She has been able to address issues in the office tactfully to ensure that everyone is working as effectively as possible. She has been able to use her previous nursing experience to teach and guide newer staff to provide excellent patient care. She will put in the extra time and effort to ensure that tasks are done correctly and within a timely manner for patients. She recently completed an in-service so that our office could order a specialized blood test for a patient who has a high-risk pregnancy. This is just another example of Jenn going above and beyond advocating for patient’s needs.
***Jenn routinely provides communication between patients, family members, providers, and outside specialists. She can discuss results and help execute a patient's treatment plan as efficiently as possible. She coordinates specialists care by completing the necessary referral documentation, calling to set up appointments, and then updating the patient on the plan.
***Jenn will use UpToDate to ensure she is following evidence-based practice when she is answering a patient question. During triage phone calls she will use the triage protocols in place to ensure she is giving patients accurate advice and recommendations.
***Jenn is constantly coming up with ideas to grow and improve our practice. She has taken it upon herself to track all of our patient's Pap smears to ensure we are following best practice recommendations and to also ensure that high-risk patients are completing necessary follow-ups/screening.
***Jenn has achieved her BSN. She shows continued professional engagement by regularly completing CEUs and going above the minimum requirement for additional learning and professional growth.
***She is an exceptional teammate with infinite patience, and grace, and is always willing to step in - from answering the phones, to educating patients, to helping with procedures. We have been incredibly short-staffed staffed and she is always willing to help in any capacity. She is the glue that keeps our office together and running smoothly!
***Jen does our prenatal intake education for all patients, including partners. She has streamlined the process including educational materials for the patients to take home for reference.
***Jen has a vast knowledge as a RN, and also knows where to find any and all information not already stored away in her brain!
***Jen is a very flexible teammate, being short-staffed staffed she is willing to trade or take on other shifts to help keep the office up and running.
***Jen is a BSN, RN and is always learning new things either via procedural reps, drug reps, and Dr. Keever and Rebecca Mayo, PA-C.
***Jennifer Moran is an outstanding nurse leader who serves as a role model for our entire office. Jenn is always early to work and stays late to get her work done. We often need to encourage her to leave because she has to return “just one more patient call.” Jenn is a preceptor to our junior nurses and CMAs. She can perform every job in the office and routinely steps in to help her peers and show them how to work more efficiently. When it comes to multitasking, Jenn is very capable. She manages all of the prior authorizations, FMLA forms, and all of the patient test tracking for our office. Because of her work experience with SNHHS Immediate Care and as a nurse at the Birth Place, Jenn has been a wealth of knowledge for her peers in OBGYN.
***Since Amherst OBGYN opened Jenn has been managing the care of all obstetric patients and serving as a liaison between them and the providers. She performs educational intake visits once a patient presents with a new pregnancy and she educates patients on a multitude of topics. She manages all labs that are ordered to make sure that nothing is missing and that the patients understand the results. Jenn also serves as our triage nurse and takes many phone calls from worried patients. She communicates clearly and with confidence. She is very careful to get provider input whenever needed but her experience has made her a confident source of information for our patients. Because of Jenn’s ability as a patient-centered advocate, our providers are free to provide additional care for other patients and this is very beneficial to the healthcare system.
***Jenn has been working hard to open the Amherst OBGYN practice. This is a new practice that has been growing quickly over the last two years. Since the opening, Jenn has been working hard to help establish policies and procedures for efficient workflow and she has been training all new clinical staff.
Jenn leads our clinical team by collaborating where all voices are included and feel valued. When there are problems in the clinic, Jenn is the first person to volunteer to take on the issue. She has a calm demeanor and she is respected by all of her peers because she is always looking for ways to improve processes.
Jenn has a BSN and her work is her passion. She is the backbone of our organization. While others may work on academic goals, Jenn is a nurse, and a wonderful nurse. She is also a mother of four and this year she served as a cheerleading coach. Jenn's professional engagement and what makes her such a great nurse is her caring nature. Being a mother, coach, and advocate for her patients and co-workers is how Jenn engages in her community.
***Jenn works diligently to make sure that all patients have the many tests that are required during pregnancy. She is continuously scanning the records to make sure that prenatal labs and vaccinations are offered and that the records are kept up to date. She is our nurse educator for new moms and for patients who are having gynecological concerns. Jenn is an outstanding assistant for all OB/GYN procedures, and she is the person in our office who makes sure all consents are recorded correctly in the EMR. Recently, when preparing a patient for a procedure, she recognized that the patient was short of breath and in anaphylactic shock. She quickly alerted the team, and she coordinated treatment along with transport to the hospital all while working with the patient to keep her calm and safe.
***Jenn is an outstanding member of our team! She is the first voice that our new mothers search out with a multitude of questions. Jenn is able to calm our worried patients with her sweet, intelligent demeanor. Her friendly giggle is just the thing that patients love to hear when she answers as many of their questions as she can. She often stays late to return patient calls and she is always early for work, setting a great example for the rest of the office.
***Jenn has worked for FMP first as a nurse in the Birth Place and then in Immediate Care, Amherst. She was laid off at the beginning of the pandemic but came back to work as soon as a new job with FMP was available. For the last two years, she has been a dedicated lead RN at Amherst Obstetrics & Gynecology. Jenn can perform every job in the office from PSR to medical assistant to triage nurse and she is always stepping in to assist her peers. Jenn is the kind of employee that others look up to and respect. She is an inspiration to all around her.
Jenn always goes above and beyond when patients need care. She is always able to find a place in the schedule for those who need urgent care and even when she gets pushback from me, she knows just what to say to advocate for our patients. Jenn is a master at multitasking. While she is on hold for prior authorizations she works on FMLA paperwork and returns patient MyChart messages. She is always working hard to make sure that our patients have everything they need. She is passionate about advocating for the needs of each individual whether that person be a patient or a co-worker.
