Jennifer (Nicole) Thomas has been the backbone of our office for many years. As our charge nurse, she not only maintains the continuing education and training for all our clinical staff members, but she has taken on additional responsibilities during challenging times. We recently lost several clinical and administrative associates for various reasons, putting our office in a major staffing crisis. Nicole immediately scheduled meetings with other leaders in our service line and came up with a plan on how others could assist, whether in person or remote, to get the major tasks assigned to ensure we could manage our patient load. She did all of this while also fulfilling her duties as charge nurse, which many of you know is quite a task in itself. The most impressive part about what Nicole is doing is that even under a lot of stress, she has managed to do these duties with a smile on her face and maintains excellent patient care, safety, and satisfaction. She demonstrates the characteristics of someone truly passionate about taking care of her patients, her office, and her colleagues. Ascension is blessed beyond measure, to have someone like Nicole on our team.
