Jen is a role model to look up to and strive to assimilate to be. She sets up each staff member to the best of her ability for clinical excellence as individuals and as a group.
Jen is the nursing supervisor for the Nampa Obstetrics and Gynecology Medical Group and Maternal Fetal Medicine Medical Group. She has made many amplified efforts to make each office more than just a place to work. Jen goes out of her way to build a foundation and relationship with each of her staff ensuring they know they can always go to her and trust her with whatever may come. She is a haven for each staff member, even those who do not necessarily fall under her direct nursing supervisor role. She is someone you can always go to with a concern whether it is a work concern or a personal concern. She will be there to listen and to care.
Jen ensures the clinics are performing to the best of their abilities and that each member has the tools needed to perform and excel in their roles. She is compassionate and understanding of each one of us and does not view herself as "above" although that's exactly what she is. Jen is above us, not because of a title, but because of who she is at the end of the day, who she is deep down in her core, and what she does for each of us every single day. She more than deserves to be recognized for that while never asking to be. She is the backbone for us. Without her, we wouldn't be close to the same. I know without her, I and many others may not have stayed in the clinic(s) we are.
On any given day, if a clinic may be short-staffed and arrangements to have appropriate coverage cannot be made, she becomes the coverage. Do you need a clinic nurse? She's on it. Do you need a medical assistant to room for a provider? She's going to do it. Do you need a PSR? She will be there. This ability to be what is needed sets her apart from other supervisors being willing to wear any "hat" she may need to to keep the clinics running smoothly while alleviating as much stress as she can that anyone else may feel as an effect of being short-staffed or in everyday operations. It takes every role in the clinics to have smooth operations and she can say that from first-hand experience by being in those roles when necessary.
Being a leader is more than just a title and she exemplifies what a true leader is each and every day. Jen is a role model to look up to and strive to assimilate to be. She sets up each staff member to the best of her ability for clinical excellence as individuals and as a group. She pushes each of us to be the potential and greatness she sees in us. She pushes us to strive for and reach opportunities we may not see ourselves. She never tries to be someone she isn't and you won't ever see her afraid to ask a question if she doesn't have an answer. She will find the appropriate resources to ensure a truthful answer is provided, while also gaining that knowledge for herself. If there is a concern or problem, she is going to help find the solution, and if not found, the solution will be created.
She provides compassionate care to not only her staff but to each and every patient she encounters. She strives for and goes above and beyond extraordinary service for patients, staff, and clinics. She strives for the best. Jen is not just a supervisor, role model, friend, nurse, or leader, would be diminishing her true value as she is not just one, she is all and more. Jen is not only a nursing supervisor but also a person who is but is not limited to, humble, kind, thoughtful, intelligent, diligent, accountable, innovative, understanding, dedicated, and passionate. She deserves much more recognition than most will ever know. There is not just one story that serves as an example to distinguish the nurse leader that Jen is, there are many, and she demonstrates it each day. I hope what is written here alone serves enough to be only a small snippet of who Jen Wardle is to all of us every day that is trying to be conveyed in totality. The DAISY Award is one way to bring light to and recognize the inspiring, remarkable nursing supervisor that she is each and every day while allowing others to see a small glimpse of what we know and see each day.
