A 63-year-old male was admitted to the Burn Center with an injury sustained to his left foot due to peripheral neuropathy. The patient was the primary caregiver for his wife, and he was very anxious during his hospitalization secondary to his social and medical concerns. Jenn showed so much compassion and care for the patient during his prolonged hospitalization. She worked tirelessly with Case Management and even went the extra mile by seeking out his favorite foods, offering to bring him a sandwich, and searching for a barber to trim his beard. Jenn provides this level of compassion, empathy, and concern to all of her patients. She always goes above and beyond for her patients without expecting any recognition. For the first time in this patient's admission, the staff noticed a smile on his face and a softness to his voice due largely to the caring, kindness and understanding that Jenn provided. Jenn's conversation meant the world to the patient, and it assisted him to ease his worry and concern for his surgery knowing that he would be home soon to care for his wife.
