I was admitted to the emergency room on Christmas Day with intense stomach pain and vomiting. A CT scan indicated a blockage in my intestine and I was given a room on the 3rd floor where I remained for 2 more days. The staff there was very caring and professional and I was so impressed with them all.
One RN, Jen Nason, impressed me even more. She was warm, professional, and easy going, but thorough, and certainly took the time to make me feel at ease. Jen's clinical skills showed through in her ability to quickly respond to a situation with a lovely, calming smile and a bit of a twinkle in her eye. She welcomed my family and answered their concerns with patience and compassion.
I found out that Jen has a small baby and spoke so warmly about being a mother that I could picture her curled up with her baby, blanket, and hubby, in front of a fire, on a cold night in Maine. This little chat helped me see Jen not only as an excellent nurse but as a loving woman.
Jen brings a classy level of care to our local hospital. I am pleased to nominate her for a DAISY Award and I wish her luck and love.
