February 2023 Honoree
Jennifer Novitsky, BSN, RN
Upon completion of her biology degree in 2012, Jennifer worked as a direct support professional (DSP) for people with special needs. However, she always wanted to pursue a career in the medical field but was unsure of the correct route. Her mother’s strong work ethic and personal career as a nurse lead her to her passion for nursing. Ms. Novitsky stated, “My mom’s strong work ethic, leadership skills, compassion, and being a patient advocate is what really inspired me to go back to school to become a nurse."
"The best part about working in my unit is my coworkers. We have so much fun working together, and I learn so much from them daily. Whether the patients had a minor procedure or something urgent, we collaborate to manage their pain and get them closer to home. My career at GCMC has helped me grow as a nurse and patient advocate thanks to all of them. “

Thank you, Jennifer, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
