She was calm, which made me calm. Jennifer spent some time getting my mom comfortable and settled into her new room. Jenn showed so much compassion and concern.
My Mom was rushed to the hospital on Sunday afternoon via helicopter. She was being cared for by the staff on the 3rd floor for a few days. Thursday morning her heart rate/pulse skyrocketed. I had just walked in the door for my morning visit. It was about 8:15am, I was only there for about 10 minutes when a nurse came in advising her assigned nurse that my Mom was in A-Fib. I saw the medical staff work on getting my Mom's heart rate down, but it just wouldn't go down. She eventually ended up in IMCU and we met Jennifer (her new assigned nurse). She was calm, which made me calm. Jennifer spent some time getting my mom comfortable and settled into her new room. Jenn showed so much compassion and concern. Jennifer reassured my Mom and me that my Mom was in good hands. Once we settled in, she came back and talked with us. Of course, I had to translate for my Mom. However, I was very impressed by how Jennifer knew a lot about my mom's medical background. I thought to myself, she must have read her chart. I know how busy the medical staff is with a full hospital and endless patients to care for. Jennifer visually checked my Mom and noticed her eyelids were swollen, something I totally missed. It just showed how much attention to detail Jennifer had. Jennifer made me feel at ease. Jennifer told me not to worry and that my Mom would be taken care of. Jennifer made sure to bring my Mom warm towels so I could clean her. Jennifer showed so much compassion through this emotional time for my mom and me. Jennifer truly is an angel.
