Jennifer went the extra mile for me
On the Monday before Christmas, Jennifer was caring for a patient who had undergone a urogynecological procedure. In order to be discharged without a catheter, the patient's surgeon required her to pass a urine test before she could be released to go home. The patient failed her first attempt and became very upset, worrying that she would have to have a catheter during the Christmas holidays. It was late in the day and Jennifer could have simply worked through the discharge, but she looks at the care she gives holistically.
Jennifer contacted the surgeon and asked for time to assist the patient to pass a second test. With her encouragement and gentle assistance, the patient was able to successfully complete the second attempt. She was discharged home without a catheter to spend a joyful holiday season with her family, all because, as the patient said, "Jennifer went the extra mile for me. Her excellent care made all the difference." Jen has a great sense of humor and is fun to work with. She takes great care of her patients.
