I have worked with Jennifer in the Emergency Department for many years and she is always caring and compassionate for her patients. She is very thorough and always has a smile on her face. It is a real pleasure to work with her directly because I know the work ethic she produces every day. I was able to work with Jennifer in the "green zone" where she had a young foster child who had been in a holding pattern for more than 10 days. She was so compassionate when she talked about the struggle the teen had been through and is currently experiencing. You could see the passion she had for taking any measure she had in her ability to make a better day for this young patient. She contacted some of the patient's friends and arranged for them to come to the ED to play cards with the patient. She fielded multiple calls during the day to try to get it all arranged and made sure the sacrifice would only be felt by her. She was so giddy when she realized they had arrived and it was actually going to come to fruition. She received some negative feedback from some of the nursing staff because the gathering had to be in the nursing lounge. She took it with ownership because she was doing what she felt was best for the patient.
