I would like to recognize Jennifer Pilgreen for her caring nature, dedication, and commitment to caring for the needs of others. I have witnessed Ms. Pilgreen's unwavering compassion both in a professional capacity and as a family member on the "other side" of the spectrum who needed her help through the most heartbreaking and challenging time in our lives. As a colleague, Ms. Pilgreen is professional, courteous, always available, and willing to lend a helping hand. She is a strong leader and is exceptional in working with team members to formulate the best care plan and discharge for patients in meeting their needs as they reintegrate into the community. She is clearly focused on the quality of services that are provided to her patients and their families respectively. She is a problem solver for sure! I could go on and on about Ms. Pilgreen in describing her genuine and nurturing mannerisms, but I would like to also take a moment from a personal perspective to tell you how much one family in particular (mine) truly APPRECIATES her kindness and the comfort she provided to us as our dear family was in care on her unit. Being a health care professional in service delivery is one thing, but finding yourself as a family member who is in an emotional state worried sick about their loved one, and having to ask for help is a whole other entirely different experience. There were so many unknowns and I personally felt "in the dark" but Ms. Pilgreen and her team were like shining specks of light amongst the storm helping to guide our way. I know we were bothersome with our daily calls and millions of questions but NOT one time did Ms. Pilgreen ignore our concerns. She was patient and empathic in her responses helping to ease our anxiety and worry. Unfortunately, our beloved family member passed away shortly after arriving home but we will always remember her as an outstanding nurse who truly CARED. I decided to sit down and write this in hopes that Ms. Pilgreen will know how much of a difference she makes in people's lives. She is the epitome of a HERO and most worthy of recognition for all of her hard work!
