A grateful patient called me to let me know that Jennifer is a fabulous nurse. The patient had a breast surgery at KOP and Jennifer was her PACU nurse. As Jennifer closely monitored the patient, she noticed the patient was developing a hematoma at the surgical site. Consulting with the surgeon, the patient had to return to the OR for evacuation of the hematoma.
The patient wanted me to know that she had not been scared to return to surgery because Jennifer had been confident in the care she was providing. Jennifer went above and beyond to make the patient feel confident in her care and the patient felt great about her surgery even though she had to return to surgery.
