Jennifer went above and beyond the call of duty. I am so overwhelmed with joy about her I don't know where to start. My wife's first-time experience of having a child was saved because of Jennifer. We arrived at the hospital to be induced. We got admitted, got to the room and it started, the waiting, the fear, the feeling of now knowing, and most of all the pain. My wife tried so hard to not have to get an epidural because she was scared, but the time came to need one. The pain was unbearable for her to the point of a panic attack. A huge panic attack! Well, it just so happened that minutes before another patient requested an epidural, so we were going to have to wait. After 45 minutes of pain and fear, it was our turn, but our nurse was assisting with a delivery.
That's when Jennifer came in to save the day. Jennifer's shift had ended and she was on her way out the door, but she saw our distress. I saw the look in her eyes. The look of a person who truly loves doing what she was called to do in life, help people. She said, "I can't leave knowing E needs help", and went to work. I cannot thank her enough for what she did. My wife was beyond worn out and was mentally exhausted. I don't know what would have happened if she hadn't gotten the procedure when she did.
Jennifer, you may think you were just doing your job, but you will never know what your moment of empathy and kindness meant to my family. Thank you so much for rescuing our experience. The world needs lots of you.
