I had the pleasure of meeting Jenny from the 7th floor under less than ideal circumstances. She floated to the Labor & Delivery on an evening when we were extremely busy. She took over on a fresh cesarean section from me in our Recovery Room and immediately assumed care of the patient without any resistance. I am certain that fresh surgical patients aren't her typical patient population, but neither I nor the patient would have known that based on her reassuring presence. She also was very willing to accept our standards that allow for visitors in recovery, which is unlike the main OR and recovery room; and she was very supportive of our Baby Friendly Initiative and didn't balk at a newborn being brought in and placed skin-to-skin. Jenny's flexibility, compassion and professionalism make her an asset to the healthcare system and I look forward to crossing her path in the future. Any patient would be lucky to be cared for by such an advocate.
