Jenny is an Extraordinary Nurse Leader who goes above and beyond for her staff in every way, both at work and outside of work. I can attest to this personally as I had a staff emergency when I had a first-time seizure during a staff meeting. She took all the necessary steps, and when I was fully responsive, I remember how calmly she explained to me what had happened and what the next steps were with EMS on the scene. Jenny then personally called my husband to notify him and tell him which Emergency Department to meet me at. She made sure I was safe and followed the squad to the ED in her car to come sit with me in the ER and wait for the doctors. She was there to answer my questions and a shoulder to lean on when I was still confused and scared, as this had never happened to me before. I felt safe knowing she was right there. She even cracked a few jokes to make me laugh. Jenny was the best witness, especially as a nurse with a son who has epilepsy. She knew exactly what the ED providers needed to know. She was able to explain in great detail while answering all their questions. I couldn't imagine going through that experience without her by my side. While I was off work the following days, I would call her, and she always answered my phone calls, even when I just needed to vent. Jenny is an amazing leader that I look up to. I hope that I can be there for a coworker the way she was there for me. She is more than just a supervisor. If that doesn't show how much she cares and models the Children’s vision, then I don’t know what does. Jenny is very deserving of the DAISY Nurse Leader Award!
