Jennifer Reitz, RN

Jen truly is one of the most compassionate nurses I have ever worked with. Working in genetics takes a special personality driven with compassion. Patients can be nervous coming to our clinic. They are told the appointment could take 2 to 3 hours. When Jen rooms them she makes them feel safe and at home from the start. Recently, we had a very young nonverbal boy in our clinic. Instantly, he hugged Jen as she was rooming him. As the mom told me this story, she had tears in her eyes explaining that he normally does not welcome physical touch even from her or her husband very often. This is a clear example of how Jen's presence creates a sense of calm and safety from the very start of the visit. She also is very knowledgeable and always willing to help assist in helping reach the diagnosis and best outcomes for our patients. I am starting my career in genetics as NP. I would not be as successful as I am without the help of Jen. She makes every day a great day to be at work. Jen is a ray of sunshine, and our clinic is so very lucky to have her!
