A patient arrived for a stress echo and the exam was completed. The stress test was positive. The patient needed to go to the Cath Lab, but she was a foreign graduate student; single mother, with 2 children, no family, no friends, and no car.
Jennifer Sayers took it upon herself, with the mother's permission, to go to the apartment where she lives and pick up her two sons, ages 9 and 13. After picking them up, she went through Chick-Fil-A, and got them dinner and brought them to the hospital. The patient had the heart cath and a stent was placed to relieve the 90% blocked artery.
On Saturday, Jennifer returned to the hospital and took the patient and her children home to their apartment. That was not all; after that, she went to the pharmacy and picked up the patient's medications and arranged to have groceries delivered to her apartment. This is truly above and beyond and shows the compassion, excellence, team, and purpose that Jennifer shows every day when she comes to work in the Cardiac Stress testing area.
