Jennifer Simmons is a true testament to being a "team player"; she has stepped up to ensure the efficiency of making sure IHP is working well and keeping momentum. The program has experienced two tenure employees who have retired and has recently hired a new employee to join the team. Jennifer makes sure no stone is left unturned and adheres to the NBS guidelines, policies, and workload. Despite the changes, Jennifer has remained focused, humble, and dedicated to the ideas and values of the Newborn Screening Program. NBS has a very vital and important role, because newborn babies, parents, mothers, fathers, and the rest of the village rely on them to make sure their bundle of joy has everything it needs medically entering this world. Jennifer always keeps a smile on her face and might add stylish attire to compliment and is a joy to be around and collaborate with as needed when opportunities align. She is always willing to go above the demand and be a woman of support. Things haven't always been the easiest for her and her outside life, but she finds a way to keep excelling and beating the odds. She is an overqualified recipient of the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award and is a distinguished individual who can handle any type of environment to make things better for everyone involved.

Thank you, Jennifer, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
