I am just so grateful and thankful to have a co-worker like Jennie who doesn't hesitate to lend a helping hand, even in the midst of her own busy day.
Jennie is an amazing person who goes above and beyond her job description and role. She truly implements the INTEGRIS values of Love, Learn, and Lead. Although Jennie excels in her role as a clinical educator, she has also been an amazing support to the Child Life Department.
In a tough time where hours have been decreased and our team only has one person working each day, Jennie has graciously helped out in bereavement situations. It is difficult to do hand and footprints on your own, and without a full Child Life team to assist in bereavements, I have had to reach out to others to help in these tragic situations. Jennie has stepped up and graciously assists in creating memory items for families to take home of their loved ones. She didn't have to help, as she has multiple tasks to achieve each day, but she has literally stopped what she is doing to help me create a perfect memory item. Without this assistance, it is very difficult to achieve the quality level of care and memory items that we all want patients and families to experience.
I am just so grateful and thankful to have a co-worker like Jennie who doesn't hesitate to lend a helping hand, even in the midst of her own busy day. Jennie is an example to others, and I know my entire staff is grateful for Jennie. We have all been blessed with her kindness, passion, and caring nature, which is also easy to see in her interactions with patients and families. It takes a very special person to not only help with bereavements but to do this on top of typical daily work. This type of work ethic and compassion is why I think Jennie embodies what it means to be a DAISY Award Nurse.
