Jenny came into the home and helped make us all feel at ease.
I work with Jenny at Carroll Hospice, we are both on the home team. Recently, my sister-in-law was sent home from Johns Hopkins on Hospice after a 7 month long battle with leukemia. She was 38 years old with 2 children, eight and three. Jenny was her home nurse. Even with my experience as a Hospice RN, nothing could have prepared me for this situation. My judgment was clouded, I was questioning everything I was doing.

Jenny came into the home and helped make us all feel at ease. My SIL was in bad shape, had difficulty breathing, and was not very responsive. Jenny talked us through each step and remained in the home for hours until my SILs symptoms were managed, and she was resting comfortably. What made her visit that day so special to me was that she brought along with her Canvas poster board and different colored craft paints. She painted my SILs hand and made her handprint on the poster board. She then sat with my brother, niece, and nephew and painted their hands as well to have a keepsake poster or “Family Handprint”. My niece is too young to understand but I know how special this will be to both my niece and nephew as they get older. This action, in my opinion, was above and beyond what was expected. Her knowledge, patience, and calm demeanor helped my entire family get through this difficult time. She truly is an angel.
