Dr. Stocks holds many hats. She is a teacher, nurse practitioner, mother, wife, daughter, leader, program director, and so many other things.
I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Jennifer Stocks for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse Educators at LMU CSON. Dr. Stocks represents the definition of exemplary compassionate care for others. She serves as a role model for her students, faculty, and representatives of LMU daily.
Dr. Stocks routinely goes out of her way to ensure the students in her programs are truly comprehending the information presented in their courses. She will have meetings with students 1:1 to explain information in a different way or break down the topic further to instill a proper, deep understanding of the topics. She will respond to emails, texts, and phone calls within a short amount of time, even when it's not during her scheduled working hours. She is always available for questions and concerns. She truly cares about each student in her program and pushes them to be the best providers they can be.
Dr. Stocks has personally answered a call from me during clinical hours because my father texted me that he was going to commit suicide. She told me to leave the clinical setting to go be with him. Not to worry about any homework or upcoming assignment dates. She checked in on me a few days later to make sure everything was okay. I was able to catch up on assignments within an appropriate time frame, but on my own schedule. She did not once put me down, ask for me to hurry up, require personal information about the situation, or give me a grade that was lower than the work ethic because of this incidence r/t timeliness.
Dr. Stocks holds many hats. She is a teacher, nurse practitioner, mother, wife, daughter, leader, program director, and so many other things. Yet, she takes the time to individually meet her students in their specific needs. She truly cares for them more than a number/statistic in her program, and it shows. Her dedication is not simply to this program, but to each individual student participating in the program.
