Jennifer Tellin, RN

Jenni is a stellar example of a compassionate and empathetic nurse. She has become a role model for other colleagues by her demonstration of the value-based behavior of commitment to the poor. Jenni was caring for a patient and they made a connection as Jenni realized she had graduated with the patient's daughter. She took time with the patient and listened to some of the difficulties that she had in her life that prevented her from getting additional healthcare to keep her healthy. One of the barriers that the patient shared was a lack of transportation. The patient had no transportation and would have to walk to get medical care. Jenni knew this would not be an option for this patient's diagnosis and knew that would not be good for her health. As a friend and (community) neighbor, on her day away from work, Jenni provided transportation to this patient on the day of discharge. They went to the pharmacy and Jenni helped her pick up the medication she needed. Thank you, Jenni, for anticipating this patient’s needs and making a difference in her life. It was a positive experience.
