We had the privilege to get to know Jennifer Thompson while my Daddy was a patient in the VS Dementia/Alzheimer's Unit. She made us feel safe and confident that Daddy was taken care of, and loved when we couldn't be with him as we lived 2 hours away. When we would call and check on Daddy daily, she always kept us informed of everything. Not only my Daddy, but all her patients were treated with care, kindness, love, and respect.
Jennifer always had a smile and hug for her patients and their families. She made sure our Vets were treated respectfully and with dignity. When Daddy got sick and had to be transferred to McClellan VS in Little Rock, she kept a check on him, visited him, and then honored us by coming for his funeral. My family and I made a lifelong friendship and a new member of our extended family.
To look for a dedicated, caring, respectful person who makes the word Nurse a proud profession, you need to look no further than Jennifer. We think she rocks and is very deserving of this honor.
