September 2014 Honoree
jennifer toates, RN
Our 28 year old daughter came into Sanford with a cardiac arrest event. At first we didn't know why it happened, or if she would survive it.
Jennifer was her nurse those first two very stressful nights. She explained everything she did. She gave our daughter the highest quality of care. She kept us informed, she answered all of our questions and helped advocate for us with the Physicians.
On the 2nd night of care, we had a glimpse that she followed commands and she opened her eyes. Jennifer helped us and rejoiced with us to see those signs and know that she would recover. Jennifer went Above and Beyond to help us through this most difficult time.

Jenn is a leader on the night shift. She has great ability to support her peers and manage crisis situations with ease. Jenn is also a great patient advocate, kind and caring. She ensures their needs are met and questions are answered.
