Jennifer Trotta, RN was nominated by many of her peers to receive The DAISY Award. Her colleagues sent paragraphs of kudos, which warranted her award.
AC (ICU Unit Director), said that Jennifer went "...above and beyond to advocate for patient safety...that had a huge impact on her co-workers who were part of the event [Rapid Response of decompensating patient that later turned to a Code Blue]..."
MH shared that Jennifer "...has always been a role model for me ... a clear leader on the unit."
Another co-worker, JVK, nominated Jennifer because she "has a sixth sense about patients... she insisted the patient be transferred from IR to ICU... immediately upon arrival to the ICU, the patient quickly deteriorated. She did an amazing job, and basically set the pace of the code."
BC, another co-worker, also shared that Jennifer "has always been an amazing nurse who has that critical care 6th sense. Her sense of urgency banded the team together..."
And finally, a nurse from another unit wanted to express her wonderment with Jennifer by saying that "she was a true advocate for the patient and did a wonderful job making sure patient needs were met, as well as making sure the code ran smoothly. ...She never lost composure and helped to ensure her orientee had a good experience as well."
Jennifer Trotta is an incredible friend, mentor, and patient advocate. Fellow nurses look up to her and are proud of her practice, which is why she was awarded The DAISY Award.
