Jennifer forms special, lasting relationships with many of her patients.
A fellow nurse nominated Jennifer after witnessing her extraordinary care for a family that went through a fetal demise. Jennifer was very attentive to the patient's family's emotional needs with her gentle demeanor and compassion through one of the most difficult experiences. Compassion in the delivery of care is vital and Jennifer demonstrates this with every patient exceeding their expectations. Jennifer Vega's professionalism and compassion exemplify the Hackensack University Medical Center Magnet nurse. Her devotion to the role of a nurse is core to the model of care the Magnet nurses of Hackensack University Medical Center are recognized and honored for and exceed any patient's basic needs. We are proud and grateful to have Jennifer at Hackensack University Medical Center.

I am pleased to offer my letter of support for Ms. Jennifer Vega, Clinical Level II on High-Risk Antepartum at Hackensack University Medical Center, part of Hackensack Meridian Health. Jennifer is a highly experienced obstetrical nurse, providing nurturing and compassionate care to her patients for the past 17 years. Jennifer is a leader on the day shift as an alternate charge nurse, preceptor, resource, and mentor. Jennifer's decision-making skills are consistently grounded on research-based evidence, with patient safety and satisfaction remain her top priority. Jennifer forms special, lasting relationships with many of her patients. Visits from past families occur frequently as the patients feel connected to Jennifer long after leaving our organization's doors.
Patients continue to visit on holidays, send birth announcements and holiday cards, and send words expressing their gratitude year after year because Jennifer has made that lasting human connection, bonding a nurse to a patient and their family. The nomination for the DAISY Award stemmed from the care she rendered to a patient experiencing the most profound loss a pregnant woman endures. Jennifer excels at the delicate dance a nurse must practice to provide a family with physical and emotional support during this profound loss as they go home with empty arms. She is frequently mentioned in Press Ganey surveys as an extraordinary nurse providing care beyond expectation. It is a pleasure to work with Jennifer and have her on our team for all the years we have worked together. I wholeheartedly support her nomination for the IHI/NPSF DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. In my opinion, Jennifer is the perfect candidate to be honored with this award.
