While I had an emergency surgery to have a nephrostomy tube put into my kidney, nurse Jenny was there the whole time keeping me calm. My tube began to no longer drain almost immediately after I got home, so I contacted the hospital around closing time and was having little help finding a solution. She called me on her personal device to ask about my symptoms and reassure me I was all right - and while on-call the weekend, still on her own time, she reached out to me to see how I was doing. When she heard my tube was still working improperly, she set up a procedure time first thing Monday morning for me. When I wasn’t back in the prep room right away, she reached out to find out what the holdup was, which was a miscommunication with the front desk, as I hadn't realized the appointment was made stat to avoid insurance approval. Jenny called them right away, and I was brought back within 2 minutes. She then called me after my procedure to personally check up on me. I really appreciate her going above and beyond what she needed to do to help me because I ended up not even needing the tube and was just left with lots of discomfort, and because of her, I’m moving like normal again and completely pain-free.
