I had multiple complications after delivering my baby. My OB was out of the country on vacation during the whole episode, so I was being passed around from doctor to doctor based on who was on call. I was suffering from post-partum anxiety and high blood pressure, which were compounding each other.

Toward the end of the week, as my anxiety and blood pressure seemed to be in a vicious cycle and I hadn't slept in several days, I met Jennifer. Her warm personality and calming disposition were what I needed right when I needed it. She was a welcome maternal presence and an extremely skilled nurse. But the most important thing she did for me was truly listen to me and tell me everything was going to be ok. She fought to have me discharged because we both knew I needed to be home in order to relax and be with my baby. And when I had to be readmitted later because of my blood pressure, she came to visit me while I got treatment. I don't know how I would have gotten through the whole ordeal without her.
